Jesus meets a man who has been living in isolation, bondage and torment, unable to break free from what controls him. His encounter with Jesus reminds us that no prison is too strong for the authority and power of God. Whatever holds us captive, Jesus is able to bring freedom.

But freedom is not the end. We need to fill our lives with God’s Word, the Holy Spirit and Christian community, continuing to walk with Him. And like the man Jesus set free, we are called to return and tell others what God has done. We are freed to free others.
