Some Words from Phil
Hi Everyone,
As the year has kicked off, we have been meeting with many of the ministry teams and core site leaders to touch base and discuss the year ahead. All these conversations have reminded me of the immense privilege we have to serve this local church. There are so many people working so hard in so many different ways to create a space for others to grow in their faith.
I am also very aware that we are not a perfect community and that we make many mistakes along the way. I am grateful for an atmosphere of grace that enables us to bear with one another while also spurring one another on in our service to God.
I want to express my personal gratitude and that of the eldership team to every person who serves in the life of Redeemer. I can honestly echo the psalmist who felt so happy to go and meet with God’s people.
I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” – Psalm 122:1 (NIV)
Have an amazing week.
God bless, Phil
Elder's Corner: A Message from Ced
“Don’t be afraid, just believe.”
~ Mark 5:36 ~
Last Sunday's Message
This past Sunday, Phil continued his Lifestyle Christianity mini-series with a message on things worth pursuing.
When Paul writes his two letters to Timothy, he is nearing the end of his life and thinking about the things he needs to tell this young church leader before his departure. Of course, he shares some ministry insights, some practical church insights, and some advice for living the Christian life. In this passage, he speaks about fleeing from some things and pursuing others. If we get these things right, we will follow in the footsteps of Paul and Timothy and develop a healthy and mature Christian lifestyle.
If you didn’t manage to catch his message, you can find it here or on our YouTube channel: Redeemer Church Mu.
Welcome to our New Oasis Interns
Last Sunday evening was our first Open Prayer meeting of 2026. This is where several churches join together in prayer for Mauritius. On Sunday, we gathered in the Redeemer South venue for an hour of prayer devoted to the idea of freedom from slavery. We prayed for freedom for those bound by addictions and for the church to be a community of freedom. We also prayed for the restoration that only God can bring to people and to society as a whole.
It was wonderful to experience so many Christians united with one heart and purpose in prayer. Besides a wide cross-section of Mauritians, there were many internationals in the meeting, too. A YWAM team made up of members from the US, Canada and France joined us in praying for Mauritius. There was something beautiful about standing together in humility, unity, and equality before the throne of God in simple but heartfelt prayer.
The prayer meeting was loud because of the many voices in a closed space. But at the same time, it felt incredible to be carried by a river of prayer for this nation.
I can’t recommend this experience highly enough. Hope to see you at the next one.
