Some Words from Phil

Hi Everyone,

This weekend marks the end of the first Oasis Team for the year. It has been a great privilege to have Pete and Dez with us for the last four months, serving, growing, and getting to know so many of us. They have truly become part of the family and it is hard to believe that season is already coming to a close. Fortunately both Pete and Dez will be coming back to Mauritius to pursue their studies and we look forward to continuing our journey with them beyond Oasis.

I want to thank all the different people who have played a part to make Oasis a success, from the admin to the skills development, entrepreneurship, worship, theology, devotions, French Lessons and so much more. Redeemer Church is blessed to have so many willing and skilled people who have imparted so much into the program.

May God continue to work in your lives, Pete and Dez. May you go from strength to strength in your relationship with him. May you grow in maturity and in fruitfulness and in confidence as you walk in his plans for your lives. It has been a privilege to have you on Oasis and we look forward to seeing all that God does in your lives in the future.

God bless, Phil

Elder's Corner: A Message from Leigh Kendon

There is something about leaving your comfort zone and being in another nation that enlarges your vision. We were recently in Sri Lanka and I was stirred and challenged by the faith and work of people in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. These are regions where people are persecuted for their faith yet they persevere in the call to go and make disciples and to build and plant churches.

Deepak, a pastor in Nepal, travels 3 days in the mountains to reach villages where people have never heard the name of Jesus. He and others sacrifice their time, comfort, safety and health to go and spread the Good News.

Stanley, a pastor in India, encouraged us not to stay inside our 4 walls but to go beyond – he said ‘when we step outside, our faith grows, miracles happen, souls are saved and revival spreads.’

When we completed our church building, Phil felt God saying the work wasn’t finished. We needed to fill it with people. God is interested in souls. He wants all people to know and worship Him.

Let us be bold and courageous, stepping out of our comfort zone, to share our faith so that every nation, tribe, people and language can worship Him.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”

~ Revelation 7:9 ~

Sri Lanka Feedback: Tim Kendon

Just recently, during the last week of May, a group of us from Redeemer had the privilege of being able to join the Sri Lanka Global Collective. Sri Lanka is an extremely beautiful country, and its people are very friendly and open. Whether you were walking down the street or taking a ride in a tuk-tuk, you were sure to encounter a smile and a greeting at some point in your route.

The Collective time was also incredible. There were hundreds of people, from little children to grandparents, gathered from 21 nations, united together to see what God was doing in this time and in that place. We had awesome times of ministry, worship, including worship in Tamil, and times of prayer. When we were not gathered in the hall for a session, you would find people of different cultures, backgrounds and ages connecting over meals, and sharing testimonies, their hearts and their prayers.

We are so thankful to God for all the things that He accomplished during the time – the seeds planted, fruits harvested, and dreams sown, and are trusting that God will finish the work that He started then.

~ Tim Kendon

Last Sunday's Message

The bible describes a way of working together as churches, which is based on relationships rather than hierarchical structures with systems and procedures. The book of Philippians describes the relationship between Paul and this church as one of deep love and affection. And yet it is also a very effective partnership for the advancement of the gospel. There is much for us to learn about the heart of working together and the approach we can take to closely adhere to the bible’s teaching.

Sri Lanka 2026 Highlights

In May, Phil and Leigh Kendon, Tim Kendon, Ced and Cheryl Holl, and Jonas Marie-Jeanne all participated in a mission trip to Negombo, Sri Lanka. There, they met local evangelists Saj and Michelle, as well as other regional evangelists from India and Nepal.

Additionally, other members of Genesis Collective also joined the events in Sri Lanka, and provided great excitement, organization and vision for what God can do on this island off the coast of India.

Here are some highlights from Sri Lanka, 2026!
