There are so many things that we express a hope for that we actually have no control over nor do we know whether these things will happen or not. It is mostly just wishful thinking or a hope that our positive thinking will move things in a positive direction. But is there actually a basis for hope?

Biblical hope does not depend on the circumstances at all. In fact, Christians are urged to hope in God even when there is no positive side to the circumstances of their lives. Hope means choosing to trust God and to foster our relationship with him because we know that he is the source of everything we need and he is the fulfilment of everything we hope for.
