Some Words from Phil

Hi Everyone

We are T-1 days for Camp launch and could not be more excited. Something really special happens when families camp together, spending extended time in one another’s company. We have experienced this firsthand, as we camped with friends when our children were young. It is hard to explain how beneficial those holidays were for bonding as a family.

The same is true for our church family. We look forward to spending quality time together and building deeper friendships within the Redeemer community. We trust that we will bond with one another across all the congregations (North, South, and West) and leave camp with a stronger sense of common vision and purpose.

The Camp Service on Sunday will also be a rare opportunity for us to worship together as one big Redeemer family. I encourage anyone not camping to join us on Sunday for this special time. We will start at 9:30 at Anse La Raie with a service packed with worship, testimonies, and a message from the Scriptures. We’ll have enough lunch for everyone, so please plan to stay a little longer and enjoy the overflow of the camp.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

God bless, Phil

Camp Reflections from Madhvi

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since our last church camp. And here we are again, church camp is happening this weekend. After all the planning, organising, meetings and coffees, I am looking forward to seeing everything coming together and for everyone to have the time of their lives this weekend. No matter if you are sleeping in a tent or the dormitory, the most important thing is that we get to spend this weekend on the beautiful north coast of our incredible island together. We get to have our morning coffees and meals together. We get to worship our Lord and have devotions together. We get to do some fun games and competitions together.

Church Camp carries lots of fun memories for me. My absolute joyful highlight is sitting around the campfire, hearing all the giggles, laughter and spontaneous worship. The students even had a little choir going on at some point. And for the kids, it was the best night of their lives for sure with all the s’mores and Nutella. My adventurous highlight is going on the dragon boat on crystal clear turquoise water; it was hard trying to make your team win the dragon boat competition, and wanting to admire the view while also hoping you would see a turtle.  And my sweet highlight is enjoying all the homemade crunchies from Leigh Kendon. Teatime with all the baked goodies is something to look forward to. My peaceful highlight is lying on Kai Holl’s hammock and enjoying the stunning, beautiful, blue-sky day.

If you have signed up for church camp, you have signed up for some really good fun, loud laughter, yummy foods and late nights this weekend. And I pray it’s going to be a time where you will see and encounter the love of Jesus.

Love, Mads

Last Sunday's Message

On Sunday, Phil shared a message which connects to our upcoming Church Camp with its theme, Tell Your Story.

One of the values of Redeemer Church is Sharing the Gospel. This means that we are interested in introducing others to Jesus. We long for our friends, family, neighbours, and work colleagues to find the same peace with God, forgiveness for sins, and personal relationship with God that we have found in Christ. One of the ways we can work towards that is by telling people what God has done in our lives – what our life was like before we met Christ, what happened when we met Christ, and how our life has changed since we started this journey of faith.

If you missed Phil’s message on Sunday, you can find it here or on our YouTube channel: Redeemer Church Mu

important Church Camp Info

Church Camp is happening this weekend, and we are looking forward to experiencing a great weekend together.

To make things a little easier for those who have registered, we have put together a packing list of things you’ll need to bring, and some information on the Camp. We have also set up a WhatsApp group for the Camp, which will include important information, weather or schedule changes, lost and found items, and photos and moments from Camp. You can find the WhatsApp group on the Redeemer Community or join through this link.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you have, too.

Oasis Program:
Welcome Vimbai & Neema!

Hello!

I’m Neema, from Kenya, and I’m currently studying Law at Middlesex University.

I’d describe myself as a quiet yapper — I don’t say much at first, but once I’m comfortable, I have plenty to say! I enjoy travelling, reading, music, and I’m always up for meeting new people and hearing their stories.

I’m really excited to be part of Oasis. Moving from Kenya to study here has already taught me a lot about adapting and growing, and I’m looking forward to what this program adds to that journey — new experiences, new perspectives, and hopefully some lasting friendships along the way.

Thank you for having me, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

See you around!
Neema

Hello everyone!

My name is Vimbainashe Murombedzi and I’m studying Business Computing and Data Analytics at Middlesex University.

I love the outdoors — especially swimming and hiking— and I’m a big reader. There’s nothing like a good book and some fresh air to reset me.

Family means everything to me, and growing up in a Christian household taught me the value of community, service, and growing in my faith. I really believe in showing up for people and being someone others can count on.

That’s why I’m so excited about The Oasis Program. It feels like the perfect opportunity to serve, connect, and grow both with others and in my faith. I’m looking forward to everything that lies ahead with you all!
