The Heart of a Servant
Many of us, at some point in life, have found ourselves desiring to be above everything. We want to be superior in our decisions, to be the voice that influences outcomes, to lead in relationships, in our workplaces, even sometimes in the church. Deep down, there’s a human impulse that drives us to seek prominence and authority. However, when his Disciples had a similar request, Jesus reminded them that whoever wants to be great must first be a servant. We should not be fixated on status, but rather be willing to serve in whatever area God has placed us in.
