The heroes of Hebrews 11 all trusted God and took him at his word. They acted in faith as a response to the Word of God, and they each accomplished something in their lives because of that faith. In one way, each story is unique and unrepeatable. But in another way, they provide a model for us to follow as we seek to live by faith in our own context. Rahab was a Canaanite woman who was a citizen of a city about to be destroyed because of its sin. But she believed God, pledged her allegiance to God and his people, and saved herself and her family through her faith.
