The message this morning is about living a life worthy of God – a life that is pleasing to him. It springs out of the prayer that Paul prays for the Colossian church that God will fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives. He doesn’t start with the kind of lives we should live – he starts with the things we need to get there. It is impossible for any human being to live this kind of life. We can only do it God is working in us, helping us, filling us with his Holy Spirit so that we are living by his power, in his wisdom, and with his understanding.
