The story in Luke 7 about the woman with the alabaster jar is one that is beautifully written and easy to read. What the woman knew was that we are all in debt to God and are all debtors. And the truth is that none of us can pay that debt. However, forgiveness is available to everyone and Jesus has paid that debt for us on the cross. All you need to do is take hold of it.
